Hill/Hoy Fanning Family

Hello from Arizona! I am looking for information or resources to information on family members who lived in Wigan. My great grandparents George Hill & Jane Adelaide Hoy Fanning were married September 12, 1913 and had two children in Wigan...Muriel Hill born July 17, 1917 and Ronald Hill born June 4, 1915 (he died as a child on December 22, 1918 which spurred the family to move to America.) We are also wondering if we have any relatives still in the area. Any information is appreciated.

According to the Lancashire Online Parish Clerks website the marriage between George and Jane was on the 20th Sept not the 12th ?? at the King Street Methodist Church

Jane was the daughter of Thomas Fanning and Rose Hannah Hoy , Thomas and Rose were married on the 25th November 1883 at St. Josephs R.C. Church Wigan , the marriage doesnt seem to have lasted , as Rose reverted back to her maiden name and died 1910 and is buried at St. Wilfrids Church Standish Wigan. Rose was born Rosanna Jane Hoy in Hertfordshire the daughter of Thomas Hoy and Hannah Reed

Thomas Fanning is a bit of a mystery he appears to be in lodgings in 1891 and listed as a groom which ties in with the info on his daughters marriage records?

Jane had 2 Sisters Gertrude Maud Fanning b 1885 and
Annie Hoy ( father unknown ) Gertrude married a William Astle in 1915 and died in 1931

Az laura there is a good history shop in library street Wigan everything you need pretty sure you will find there. Census. Military. Church records all in there

Used to go regular to the history shop just thought of they sent a few more snippets we could help did you notice George has a sister who married at the Methodist church see how it goes

Yes I did see his sisters marriage he also had a brother and sister married at St Johns Pemberton , and there was at least 2 more brothers an a sister
but I am not going to waste to much time when people are not showing any interest??
I did go to the History Shop a lot and still go occasionally, when I think I can help someone , but I think I have gone as far as I can with my own tree

There's a possibility that they might be ill..hence the absence of a reply.

Notice they put Warrington rd goose green has pemberton they must have called goosegreen pemberton then

My mother and brother are planning to visit Wigan in May and she will be very interested in checking out the history shop that was mentioned. All of the other information provided here will fill in many gaps in our family tree. I am very grateful!

George Hill , was one of seven children,
They were Margaret b 1877 married John Darbyshire 23 Apr 1898 at St. Johns Pemberton

William b 1879 appears to have remained a bachelor died 1925 buried at St, Johns Pemberton

John b 1882 married Eliza Pugh 26 Oct 1901 at St. Johns Pemberton

Mary b 1885 married Robert John Hughes 27 Nov 1909 at King Street Methodist Wigan

Thomas b 1887 died 1906 buried at St. Johns Pemberton
George was b 1891

Elizabeth b 1896 married Walter Donald Scott 1930 ( venue unknown as yet?)
All children where born in the Pemberton / Goose Green area of Wigan

The parents of the above were Thomas Hill b about 1855 and Elizabeth Catterall b about 1857
Thomas died Jan. 1896 and is buried at St. Johns Pemberton, and I THINK Elizabeth died in 1939??
The family appear to have lived most of the time in Warrington Road
